  1. So few words yet so powerful. I agree…those eyes! Clever use of the final word: imprison .. rather than in prison. and I wonder why this young man is having his mug shot taken? That’s the interesting thing about this series of photos — we just don’t know.

  2. Ah, I have been a middle school dean too long (one school year); it had brought me to a place where I distrust innocent eyes and cherubic faces. However, your poem is outstanding. I love minimalism — making a few words carry heavy meaning. You have done it well.

  3. I somehow don’t think imprision is a typo. It works as a multi-layered impression, inprecision, inprison (too) imp, reason even, and the line: ‘blunt young eyes’ is heartbreaking. This is brilliant!
