An Elegy for a friend

Hi, day 3 for napowrimo.net challenge.

‘Today I’d like to challenge you to write an elegy – a poem that mourns or honors someone dead or something gone by.’

Inspired by Elegy for Jane, by Theodore Roethke

This write is for my good friend Darwin, whom I spent with many blissful days in college. He pass away at a young age. Back, on Friday nights together with other friends we squat, drink rum, celebrate life with soothing stories told, and laugh at our mishaps. Every March 31st is his death anniversary.
